High Desert Playboys

The High Desert Playboys are one of Albuquerque’s best known americana bands. They have been delighting audiences throughout New Mexico with their lively dance sets since 2016. They play a unique blend of original and modern americana, high energy bluegrass, classic country, country gospel, western swing, cajun and zydeco standards.

Led by singer/songwriter Clark Andrew Libbey, currently an artist on Slow Start Records (Dallas, TX), and Kristen Rad, one of the areas most sought after electric violinists, they are comprised of some of the best americana and country musicians in the Albuquerque. Known for strong, soulful vocals, delicate harmonies, exceptional instrumentation and catchy hooks, they have become a fixture in the brewery, farmer’s market and festival scenes. Their latest album “Ticker Tape Parade”, recorded at the nationally renowned Rio Grande Studios, was released on Slow Start Records in 2022.
